What a great night the Listry community had at the dogs on Sat. 11th
May 2013.This was the Steve Kennedy Memorial night and we had 11 great
races.
A lot has been written and rightly so of all the great sporting
achievements of the late Steve Kennedy,but,my lasting impression of
Steve Kennedy is of a big man with a big smile.If I was asked about
Steve when I came home from the dogs last night I would have said “sure
I was talking to him”.I met him in his wife Mary,his daughter Jackie,
his sons Paul and Kieran,his sister Marie,his brothers Mike,Jimmy,
Jerome and Noel and his many nieces and nephews.That great smile was
present on every face and that to me is your lasting legacy Steve,may
you rest in peace.
Thank you to the Kingdom greyhound stadium supporters club and
Listry GAA club for a most enjoyable evening.It was great to see so
many smiling,happy faces.
I think Steve smiled at GOD as well on Sat. as the weather was
perfect on the night.
