Listry qualified for the final of the Novice Shield with a good win over Asdee on Sunday last. The vistors started brightly with 2 points inside the first 6 minutes but Listry hit the front on the 7th minute with a cracking goal from center forward Paul O’ Donoghue. Asdee responded with a point from Eoin Kennedy but Derry Ahern restored Listrys lead with a point from a free and also converted a penalty to put the home side 4 clear. Further points from Anthony Kennedy, Damien Clifford, Jimmy Leary and Derry Ahern meant Listry went in at half time with a 7 point lead. Listry took total control in the 2nd half and points from Eoghan Darmody Damien Clifford John Foley and Derry Ahern, saw Listry run out easy winners on a scoreline of Listry 2-10 Asdee 0-9.
