Listry/ Keel played their 2nd game in the county league , and followed up their 1st win over Beaufort last week, with a hard earned win over Listowel emmets on a picture perfect pitch in Listowel.
playing with the aid of the breeze in the 1st half Listry were quickly off the blocks, with the midfield pairing of James Courtney and Kieran Brosnan winning alot of ball, allowing for a plentiful supply of ball to the forwards to which they profited well and led at half time 10pts to 1 pt, with joseph clifford, ronan buckley and aaron murphy to the fore.
the 2nd half was a much more ding dong battle with both teams having periods of dominance, and Listowel came storming out of the blocks and rattled in 3 goals in succesion in the 1st 10mins of the 2nd half, and took the lead in the 41st minute when thier corner forward and best player kicked over a fine point.
Quite the response from the Listry/Keel lads, led by conor o sullivan from wing back, Listry/keel took over for the next 10 mins and kicked 1-3 without reply , the goal coming from joseph clifford after some great work from conor sullivan. The final 10 minutes was frantic and end to end as listowel got another goal , only for LIstry/keel to respond with 2 points of their own. Listowel reduced it to 2points with 3 minutes remaining, but Listry/Keel got the final score of the game and ran out deserving 3 point winners.
This was a great team effort, and espically in the 2nd half after letting a 9point lead slip, the team showed great composure to come back and grind out a great win.
Well done to all 24 players involved out in Listowel.
