Wed.20th June 2012 Listry/Keel played Beaufort in the first round of the U-16 Co.league.The game was played under ideal conditions in Allman park Listry. Our boys started brightly but the pace of the Beaufort forwards caused a few problems for our defence. However, Listry/Keel were causing problems for Beaufort by being strong on the ball and driving forward at every opportunity. When the half-time whistle blew the sides were level Listry/Keel 1-7 Beaufort 2-4.
Listry/Keel didn’t have a game for 3 weeks due to the Junior Cert. exams.During this time the panel continued to train and fair play to the boys the extra training really showed in the second half.
Listry/Keel took over in the second half and scored an impressive 2-10 to Beaufort’s 5 points. That left the final score Listry/Keel 3-17 Beaufort 2-9.Well done to the u-16 panel on a great start to the league.
