On Sunday 24th June 2012 Listry U-12’s played Tarbert in the final game of the Lee Strand Co. League(phase 2). It was a beautiful evening and a beautiful pitch.Listry looked lively from the throw in but every time we opened up a lead Tarbert hit us with a goal.Listry were the better team in the first half and really played as a team, great movement, great kick and hand passing and put over some great points.Listry scored 1-7 in the first half and Tarbert scored 3-1.It was hard to believe it was level at half time.
The second half was a similar affair with Listry playing lovely football and great awareness of team mates.Tarbert scored 2 goals again in the second half but Listry finished with a flurry of points to run out deserving winners by 6 points.Listry were full of running in the second half and great credit is due to the panel for putting in the effort in training.Listry scored 1-10 to Tarbert’s 2-1 in the second half to leave the final score Listry 2-17 Tarbert 5-2.
